*In connection with your application of 8th.
October 1912 relating to arrears of full pay
leave, I sa instructed to inform you that His Excellency the Governor agrees with the Colonial
Treamurer that you have no claim. The Treasureri s of opinion that Police Service counts as Colonial
Service in regard to the question of leave pay 4/- and pension pay 3/8 because the Police had
the same privileges before 1st July, 1897, and the
transfer should not result in the loss of these
privileges;but the same argument does not apply to the question of three months versus four months full pay leave (vacation leave). The Police did not possess this privilege before 1st March 1894
and therefore transfer to the Civil Service proper
of that date does not confer on such transferred
Officer any such privileges of this nature (sd) F.Clark, C.V.§.
(7). As the provisions of General Order No. 120 (b)
were so interpreted in the case of officers appointed to the Sanitary Department aféer let.
July 1997 as to enable them to retain peivileges
previously enjoyed while in the Police, your petitioner was of the opinion that the same indulgence should be extended to him with refer- ence to General Order No.189, and he submitted
a further simute to Government as follows.
